Nobel Upstream is an independent exploration and production company engaged in energy projects.
Nobel Upstream is the trade name of the group of companies controlled by Nobel Oil E&P (UK) Ltd. The group is registered in the UK and has its headquarters in London, with technical and commercial teams based in Baku, Azerbaijan, and Houston, Texas.
Nobel Upstream has ongoing projects in the Caspian Sea of Azerbaijan, the UK North Sea, and the Permian Basin in Texas, USA, all of which are in production and various stages of appraisal and development. The company continues organic growth through drilling and inorganic growth via investment opportunities in these three regions.
Combining experienced management, targeted acquisitions, and strong partnerships, Nobel Upstream uses proven technologies to support the safe and profitable development of its oil and gas resources. In the UK and US, the focus is on mature oilfields where sophisticated technical planning and strong operational execution can unlock and add value. In Azerbaijan, continuing appraisal followed by disciplined project execution will ensure value from the multi-TCF reserves in the portfolio.
Although Nobel Upstream was incorporated in 2014 when Nobel Oil spun off its exploration and production business into a new UK corporate structure, Nobel Oil has been active in the oil industry since 2005 and acquired an upstream asset in 2008.
Today, Nobel Upstream holds a 20% interest in Umid Babek Exploration and Production company, which is the sole contractor under the Umid-Babek Risk Service Agreement, in addition to its UK the North Sea and US Permian Basin assets.
